Another Study Shows Lower Cancer Risk for Vegetarians

A new study suggests that vegetarians have lower rates of cancer than meat-eaters. This BBC News summary also indicates that vegetarians were shown to have greater colorectal cancer risk, and by the time you finish the article it’s easy to forget the study’s key finding was lower overall cancer rates for vegetarians.
One thing the veggie movement lacks is a crackerjack team of RDs who would discuss just-published studies like this privately, then issue a short summary. Such a group would be able to look at key issues that never get covered in mainstream reporting, such as, in this case, were colorectal cancers in this study higher for vegans as well as vegetarians?
